I do not know the first thing about web development, and now that conventions are all done with, I've got some time to finally learn. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to educate myself to a decent competence in web design? Books? Tutorial websites? A school I can take a class or two at?

I'd look into FIT's course schedule. They have a lot of weekend and short-session courses that are WAYYYYY cheaper than, say, SVA. I took a Quark class there about a hundred years ago and it was good.

I'm sure BMCC and the CUNYs have stuff too, but I can't vouch for those.

Raina beat me to it, was going to say the same thing....I took a weekend refresher courses in flash and dreamweaver last summer. Usually its 10-6 on sat and sun, they fly through everything, but give out good clear notes and I just went home and played around with everything.

Totally off topic, just saw the cover for the first Dr. Mcninja book, love it!! You guys heading to SPX, might wait and get it off you then if you are.
